Lone Survivor is a good movie. I don't believe it is correct to say this the best war movie of recent years. It certainly isn't, and plus I find it difficult to define what a "war" movie is. We have the "comradeship" war movie, we have the "horror" war movie, we have the "psychological" war movie, the action, and so on... Lone Survivor has some tastes of all of the sub genres. It is an intense and passionate film, thrilling to say the least, but not free from the chains of american propaganda. But honestly, who cares... Lone Survivor is the proof that thriller and action movies are getting better and better by the day. The movie feels real, incisive, chokes the audience, and presents likeable heroes that resemble the models of the late 80's and early 90's american action movies, but with a modern presentation. It is undoubtedly a solid movie that knows what it is doing. Final note for an amazing soundtrack and sound editing. This one will leave you on the edge of your seat.
