Liam Neeson is becoming quite the celebrity on action movies. Non-Stop is the latest, where Neeson is an air Marshall in charge of a commercial flight which is apparently being hijacked. Action movies are better today than 20/30 years ago. That's the truth and an example of how technology can be put to good use purely for the benefit of entertainment. Take for example the Bourne series, Crank, Last Stand or Taken, among many others. Non-Stop is not totally fresh, it feels a bit recycled, but the purity of the thriller is all there. It has some popcorn moments, but what's the problem? You can't expect a Bergman experience on a movie where Liam Neeson protects an hijacked plane. Even so, the movie feels realistic and sober, nothing like Harrison Ford's Air Force One for example. Not the best of recent action flicks, not the worst, but a competent good edgy thriller. Yeah!
