The Zero Theorem is clearly a movie born from Terry Gilliam's mind. In a near dystopian future, Christoph Waltz doesn't like to work with people around him and has the need to stay home to answer a phone call he has been waiting for for years. The Zero Theorem is not an ambitious movie, nor a movie that wants to make you think or feel too much, not the likes of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Brazil or Dr. Parnassus. Zero Theorem just wants to be enjoyed and it is enjoyable. It is funny, unique and well acted. Visually interesting, sometimes cute and most times socially strange. It is a minor work in Gilliam's filmography due to its lack of ambition, but that doesn't mean it's not a good movie, just like Burn After Reading was for the Coen brothers. And you can always lose yourself in Terry Gilliam's imaginarium...
