The Iceman enters the dangerous territory of gangster movies, a genre that arguably produced some of the best movies ever made, such as The Godfather or Goodfellas, and as it tries to present itself as a solid crime movie it leaves some loose ends that need to be pointed out. The Iceman is the Biopic of Richard Kuklinski, a real life contract killer who acted during the 70's, never allowing his beloved family to know what he really did for a living. Michael Shannon again proves that he is one of the best actors in the industry, with another outstanding performance as Kuklinski. However, his acting is by far the best in the movie. All the rest is just competent, delivering what the movie asked for, but never risking anything, and that was something we would like to see in a movie like this. As that, The Iceman is a solid but defensive gangster movie that was crowned by an amazing lead whose name is Michael Shannon.
